Visual Checks
1. Check the exterior of the engine for
leaks, wear, or damage.
2. Check for engine oil leaks.
3. Check for fuel leaks.
4. Check for engine coolant leaks.
5. Check for damaged or missing parts.
6. Check for loose, missing, or damaged
fasteners.
7. Check the seawater inlet and outlet for
blockage or damage.
8. Check the electrical harnesses for
cracks, abrasions, and damaged or
corroded connectors.
9. Check hoses for cracks, abrasions, and
damaged, loose or corroded clamps.
A WARNING
ENTANGLEMENT
HAZARD!
• Stop the engine before you
begin to service it.
• NEVER leave the key in the key
switch when you are servicing
the engine. Someone may
accidentally start the engine
and not realize you are
servicing it. This could result
in a serious injury.
• If you must service the engine
while it is operating, remove all
jewelry, tie back long hair, and
keep your hands, other body
parts and clothing away from
moving / rotating parts.
• Failure to comply could result
in death or serious injury.
